Cedar Drive Park

This 57.0 acre site was acquired by the township under the New Jersey Green Acres program in 1967. There have been a number of facilities developed at this site, as well as on the adjacent land of the Cedar Drive School site including two Little League (and softball) diamonds, tennis courts, a 300 yard running track used for school and recreation track and field activity. two basketball courts. The site is also used extensively for soccer and youth football in season.
Baseball Fields
Cedar Drive Park has two 60-foot Little League (and softball) diamonds. The use of baseball fields is by permit only.
Basketball Courts
Cedar Drive Park has two outside regulation courts. Outdoor basketball courts are available for use by Township residents without reservations. Use of indoor basketball courts at the Township schools requires a permit obtainable through the school administration office.
Equestrian Facilities
Cedar Drive Park has a trail that connects to the 5000-meter Bucks Mill trail system.
Handball Courts
Cedar Drive Park has several handball courts.
Hiking Trail
Cedar Drive Park has a hiking trail that connects to and is part of the 5000-meter Bucks Mill trail system.
Indoor Gyms
Cedar Drive Middle School has an indoor gym with basketball court that is used extensively by the recreation programs in town. The school cafeteria is also used for athletic programs such as karate and gymnastics.
Open Activity Areas
Cedar Drive Park has a lower field (primarily used for a full-sided soccer field for school and recreational use) and an upper field (currently used for Pop Warner football practice in season).
Running Tracks
Cedar Drive Park has a small, 300-yard running track used for school and recreation track.
Soccer Fields
Cedar Drive Park has one full-size soccer field used by the school teams and youth travel teams as well as several smaller fields in season. The use of soccer fields is by permit only.
Tennis Courts
Cedar Drive Park has three tennis courts available.
Rules and policies regarding the use of tennis courts include:
- Colts Neck Township reserves the right to refuse access to tennis courts without notice.
- The use of tennis courts is restricted to participation in recreation tennis and related practices. No unauthorized tournaments, lessons or professional instruction is allowed without a formal permit.
- All non-tennis related activities are forbidden. No rollerblading, skating, hockey, skateboarding or any other similar sports or games are to be performed on Township tennis courts.
- Please keep tennis courts clean. Remove all trash, cans, cups and canisters and place them in the proper receptacle.
- Proper footwear is required for play on Township Courts. Only formal tennis shoes, sneakers, or similar attire is permitted.
- Formal hours for use of the courts will be sunrise to sunset.
